Pacers vs. Nets final score: Pacers hold on to 96-91 win over Nets

Maddie Meyer

The Nets had a chance to tie the game with 16.6 seconds left but were unable to finish their late push.

The Indiana Pacers remain the only undefeated team in the NBA after defeating the Brooklyn Nets 96-91. Paul George scored seven crucial points in the fourth quarter, helping secure the team's seventh straight victory.

Brooklyn had a chance to tie the game when they were down three with 16.5 seconds left, but Joe Johnson missed a good look from deep and David West sank two free throws to put the game away. Brooklyn's fourth quarter comeback, led by Paul Pierce's eight fourth quarter points, fell short, even with this crazy bouncing three-point shot going their way:

George registered his seventh straight game with at least 20 points, continuing his hot start to the season. George had a game-high 24 points, making three of his five three-point attempts. Roy Hibbert controlled the glass, pulling down a game-high 11 rebounds. He also blocked two shots.

Brook Lopez, Paul Pierce, Deron Williams and Joe Johnson all scored at least 15 points, making Garnett the only starter to finish the game in single-digit scoring. He had six points on seven attempts. Williams finished with a double-double, notching 17 points and 10 assists.
