Anthony Davis injury: Pelicans big man suffers non-displaced fracture in left hand

The timetable for Davis' return to the court is to be determined.

New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis suffered a non-displaced fracture in his left hand during the Pelicans' game against the New York Knicks on Sunday night, the team announced. Davis won't return to the game and his timetable to come back from the injury has yet to be determined.

Davis played 10 minutes before leaving the game, scoring seven points and grabbing four rebounds. The big man went to the locker room and returned to the bench wearing a wrap on his left hand.

Davis' sophomore campaign had gotten off to an excellent start prior to the injury. The 20-year-old forward entered the game Sunday with averages of 19.6 points, 10.6 rebounds and 3.9 blocks while shooting 50.2 percent from the field. He's second in the league in PER, trailing only the Miami Heat's LeBron James.

If Davis has to miss any significant amount of time, it would be a huge blow for a New Orleans team that is 7-8 in a deep Western Conference.
