Paul Pierce's second triple-double in two weeks finally pushed the Celtics over the top Sunday.

Paul Pierce had a triple-double Sunday night, and he had plenty of time to accumulate his 27 points, 14 rebounds and 14 assists in the Boston Celtics' 118-114 win in triple overtime over the Denver Nuggets.

A Jason Terry 3-pointer with 1:33 left in the third overtime gave the Celtics a 116-113 lead, and it was the shot that put the Celtics over the top.

Pierce hit a 3-pointer with 5.2 seconds left in the second overtime to tie the game at 107 and ultimately send it to the third overtime, but the Nuggets had a stab at the win. Danilo Gallinari missed a runner in the lane as time expired.

Ty Lawson's running bank shot with 0.8 seconds left in the fourth quarter tied the game at 92 to extend it past regulation. Lawson led all scorers Sunday with 29 points. He also had nine assists and six rebounds.

The triple-double was the ninth of Pierce's career and second this season. He had 17 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists in a 100-98 double-overtime win over the Miami Heat on Jan. 27.
