NBA All-Star Weekend 2013 schedule for Saturday: Dunk contest headlines Saturday night in Houston

Defending slam dunk champ Jeremy Evans looks to defend his title.

The slam dunk contest, as always, is headlining a busy Saturday at the NBA All-Star Weekend. It's the fourth event of the Saturday night TNT telecast that kicks off at 8:30 p.m. ET.

In the afternoon, the 2013 D-League All Star Game starts at 3 p.m. ET on NBA TV, and the D-League Dunk Contest is at halftime of that game.

The NBA festivities kick off at 8:30 with the Shooting Stars competition. The contest features teams of three comprised of a current NBA player, a retired NBA player and a WNBA player. The two teams representing the Western Conference are captained by Houston Rockets guard James Harden and Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook. Harden will play with Sam Cassell and WNBA all-time leading scorer Tina Thompson; Westbrook is teamed up with Robert Horry and Maya Moore.

Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh and Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez captain the Eastern Conference's two teams. Bosh will play with Muggsy Bogues and Swin Cash. Lopez is teamed up with Dominique Wilkins and Tamika Catchings.

The skills challenge follows the Shooting Stars competition. Jrue Holiday, Brandon Knight, Jeff Teague, Tony Parker, Damian Lillard and Jeremy Lin are its six competitors. Parker won the event in 2012.

The Three-Point Contest will follow, a contest in which Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry will try to redeem his All-Star Game snub. Curry will go against Ryan Anderson, Steve Novak, Paul George, Matt Bonner and Kyrie Irving.

The six competitors in Saturday's dunk contest are defending champion Jeremy Evans, 2007 champion Gerald Green, Kenneth Faried, Eric Bledsoe, James White and Terrence Ross.
