On an emotion-filled night where they honored their late, great owner, the Los Angeles Lakers managed to put aside all of the distractions surrounding the team and put away their most hated rival, 113-99, at Staples Center.

Dwight Howard managed to block out the negativity surrounding the squad and put together a strong outing with 24 points and 12 rebounds. The Lakers (26-29) got a balanced effort across the board as seven players scored in double figures. Antawn Jamison was efficient off the bench in 22 minutes, scoring 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting.
Paul Pierce led the Celtics (28-26) with 26 points on 9-of-17 shooting, and added five assists and four rebounds. Courtney Lee added 20 points on 9-of-16 shooting and went 2-of-3 from beyond the arc.
Los Angeles dominated the game in every aspect, especially the hustle stats. They outscored the Celtics in the paint by a margin of 54-30 and outrebounded them, 49-34.
