Kings could make another trade, with Aaron Brooks, Chuck Hayes believed to be available

Nelson Chenault-USA TODAY Sports

The Kings pulled off a stunning deal on Wednesday, sending Thomas Robinson to the Rockets. A report indicates another move could be on the way.

The Sacramento Kings were not expected to be active at the 2013 NBA trade deadline. Out of nowhere, the Kings sent rookie Thomas Robinson, Francisco Garcia, Tyler Honeycutt and a second-round pick to the Houston Rockets for Patrick Patterson, Cole Aldrich, Toney Douglas and cash on Wednesday. And they may not be done. From the Sacramento Bee's Kings beat writer Jason Jones:

Adding Douglas further crowds an already teeming backcourt. In addition to that, like three incumbent Kings guards, Douglas is considered a scoring point guard, not a distributor. Douglas could be waived after the deadline. But Aaron Brooks might be on the block as the deadline approaches. He's on a cheap deal -- $3.2 million this season and a $3.3 million player option for next year.

While Patterson replaces Robinson in the rotation, the addition of Aldrich could push the Kings to move Chuck Hayes, the veteran defensive big man. Hayes is on the books, however, for two more seasons at just under $6 million annually. He'd be an investment for a team looking to add someone who can defend the post, move the ball and be a good locker room presence.

Of course, given the shock of the T-Rob deal, truly nothing is off of the table for Sacramento. The mysteries of how the league's lowest functioning franchise operates remain.
