Kings trade rumors: Trust nothing, because no one knows anything

No one knows what the Kings will do next. Possibly not even the Kings.

After Wednesday's stunning deal that sent Thomas Robinson to the Houston Rockets, the Sacramento Kings are back in the rumor mill ahead of the Thursday's NBA trade deadline. Reports linked the Boston Celtics to Tyreke Evans and were quickly shot down, which makes me want to scream the following ...

Believe nothing you read about the Sacramento Kings, because no one knows what they are doing, possibly even the Kings themselves. (Note: if you believe nothing you read about the Kings, you will not believe this post, in which case you may believe something you read about the Kings, which will land you precisely in the same position you were in when you clicked this link. Joke's on you, friend.)

No one knows who is pulling the strings. Gavin Maloof? He doesn't wake up before 3 p.m. Geoff Petrie? He doesn't stay awake past 9 a.m. Chris Hansen? He doesn't officially own the team. Wally Walker? Wally Szczerbiak? All reasonable guesses.

Actually, the most reasonable guess is ...

Now the Patrick Patterson deal makes perfect sense.

TL;DR: The Maloofs may or may not be done strip-mining the Kings. Stay tuned.
