Al Harrington injury: Magic forward expects to play vs. 76ers

The Orlando Magic could see the debut of Harrington on Tuesday against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Forward Al Harrington told the Orlando Sentinel's Brian K. Schmitz that he expects to make his Orlando Magic debut on Tuesday night against the Philadelphia 76ers. The former Denver Nuggets big man hasn't played this season because of a staph infection in his knee.

Harrington told Schmitz that he feels like his Magic debut will be like his rookie season all over again, and that he was nervous after sitting out more than nine months. He last played in May.

Harrington holds career averages of 14.2 points and 6.1 rebounds. He joins an Orlando team gutted of talent and in full rebuilding mode.

Acquired by Orlando as one piece of the Dwight Howard trade that also sent Andrew Bynum to the 76ers and Andre Iguodala to the Nuggets, Harrington was brought to Orlando along with Arron Afflalo. Big man Nikola Vucevic and rookie Moe Harkless, who were both with Philadelphia last season, are also key pieces of that trade that could be big parts of the Magic's future.

Meanwhile, Bynum has yet to play for the 76ers as he's suffered from his own knee injuries.
