Roy Hibbert, David Lee suspended after Pacers and Warriors have altercation

The Indiana Pacers' Roy Hibbert and David Lee of the Warriors were suspended following a scuffle in a game on Tuesday night.

Indiana's Roy Hibbert and Golden State's David Lee have been suspended a game each without pay following their shoving match in a game between the Pacers and Warriors on Tuesday, the NBA announced on Wednesday. Golden State's Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, along with Indiana's Lance Stephenson, were fined $35,000 for "escalating the altercation", according to USA Today's Sam Amick.

Lee's agent said that the forward will appeal the suspension, according to Amick.

The Warriors will be without Lee on Wednesday night as the team visits the New York Knicks. Hibbert will be sidelined on Thursday, as the Pacers host the Los Angeles Clippers.

Hibbert and Lee got into a scuffle following a series of physical jostling for position in the paint with just more than six minutes to play in the game. Teammates of both players came to help -- no players left the bench from either team -- including Curry, who approached Hibbert toward the corner of the court and was shoved aside by the Indiana big man. The scrum occurred at the corner of the floor and pushed its way partially into the Bankers Life Fieldhouse seats as the referees attempted to separate players.

Hibbert was ejected from the game while Lee, Curry and Klay Thompson received technical fouls for being involved in the scrum. Indiana forward David West also received a technical.

Indiana won the game 108-97 despite Curry's season-high of 38 points, and Hibbert apologized to fans and his team earlier on Wednesday, according to the Indianapolis Star.
