Washington Wizards big man Nene will miss a game against the Detroit Pistons and Wednesday.
Nene won't be available to the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night against the Detroit Pistons because of a shoulder injury, according to the team. Nene aggravated his right shoulder during a win against the Toronto Raptors on Monday, and it has not been announced who will replace him in the starting lineup, according to Bullets Forever's Mike Prada.
Trevor Booker will start in Nene's place alongside Emeka Okafor, but it's expected that Kevin Seraphin could eat some of the minutes.
Nene has season averages of 12.6 points and 6.8 rebounds per game for Washington, which enters the outing against the Pistons on a three-game winning streak.
The loss of Nene will give the Wizards a more standard lineup against the Pistons, who themselves are down a big man as rookie center Andre Drummond recovers from a back injury. Detroit has been starting Greg Monroe at center to go with Jason Maxiell, but the loss of Drummond has hurt the depth.
