Warriors vs. Knicks final score: Stars show out as NY defeats GSW, 109-105

Late turnovers sealed the Warriors' fate and overshadowed a career night for Stephen Curry.

Stephen Curry scored a career-high 54 points, but the effort went unrewarded as the Golden State Warriors fell to the New York Knicks, 109-105, on Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden.

It was only fitting that some of the NBA's biggest stars were at their best at the basketball center of the universe known as MSG. Carmelo Anthony had a stellar game and finished with 35 points on 10-of-26 shooting and added eight rebounds. Tyson Chandler notched a career-high 28 rebounds and added 16 points of his own to lift New York (34-20).

J.R. Smith added 26 points off the bench in a balanced effort that saw the bench score 46 points for the Knicks.

The star of the game in the losing effort was Curry, whose career-high 11 three-pointers weren't enough to overcome the 17 turnovers the Warriors (33-25) had as a team.

The Knicks used 16 offensive rebounds to score 27 second-chance points, despite the Warriors winning the fast break points margin, 16-9.
