Already missing shooting guard J.J. Redick, the Orlando Magic will also be without fellow guards Arron Afflalo, Jameer Nelson and DeQuan Jones against the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday night, Magic beat writer John Denton reports.
For a team that's often struggled to score this season even when healthy, missing four of their six guards should make things quite a bit more difficult. With just E'Twaun Moore and Ish Smith to go up against a solid Philadelphia defense, it'll be interesting to see what kind of offense the Magic will be able to run for 48 minutes.
In their first season since the Dwight Howard deal, the Magic are currently tied for 18th in the league in offensive efficiency, scoring 100.5 points per 100 possessions. With a defense that's suffered badly in Howard's absence, Orlando has needed all the points it can get.
Fortunately for Philadelphia, many of the guys scoring those points won't be playing on Monday. The Magic will also be without Glen Davis and Al Harrington on Monday, leaving the team with just nine healthy players.
Afflalo, Redick, Davis and Nelson are the team's top four players in points per game, scoring a combined 62 points per game for a team that scores fewer than 95 points a night.
