NBA power rankings 2013: Consensus at the top

Soobum Im-US PRESSWIRE

With the All-Star weekend nearly upon us, most NBA power rankings agree that the Spurs, Heat and Thunder have separated themselves from the pack.

With the Clippers reeling from Chris Paul's longer than expected absence and the Grizzlies still trying to find themselves in the wake of the Rudy Gay trade, the Spurs, Heat and Thunder are practically unanimous Top 3 selections in the most recent NBA power rankings across the web.

At SB Nation, our own Seth Rosenthal has San Antonio ranked at No. 1:

There's absolutely no reason to be worried about the Spurs' immediate prospects sans Tim Duncan -- they did, after all just win five games without him, and have already called Aron Baynes right back from the D-League. It just better not be anything serious wrong with Duncan's knee. We've had too many knee things already.

And while the Spurs don't generate as many headlines as their most celebrated counterparts in Miami and Oklahoma City, their machine-like efficiency in the regular season has generated respect throughout the league.

ESPN's Marc Stein has them at No. 1, as does Kurt Helin of Pro Basketball Talk.

The only dissenter are the Hollinger Power Rankings over at ESPN, which are still going strong even though their creator has moved on to a front office role in Memphis. They have the Thunder at No. 1, primarily due to a slightly tougher schedule over the last month than the Spurs.
