Larry Sanders injury: Bucks big man hurts back vs. Nuggets

Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

A scary fall led to the big man leaving the game vs. the Nuggets.

Milwaukee Bucks center Larry Sanders suffered a lower back injury late in Tuesday night's game against the Denver Nuggets on the road and will be evaluated further on Wednesday.

Sanders was protecting the paint against slashing Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried when the two collided, sending Sanders backward to land directly on his back. The fall looked incredibly scary, and caused the him to stay on the ground for several minutes:

He finished with 12 points on 6-of-11 from the field and added seven rebounds and five blocked shots. Milwaukee missed his inside presence for the remainder of the game as they ended up falling to the Nuggets on the road. Denver took advantage of Sanders' absence by dominating the paint by a margin of 20-6 and shooting 60 percent in the fourth quarter.

In the 2012-13 season, Sanders is averaging 8.4 points and 8.5 rebounds per game while starting in 29 of the Bucks' 45 games.
