Kevin Garnett becomes 16th player to reach 25,000 points

Kevin Garnett became the 16th player in NBA history to score at least 25,000 points with a jumper in the second quarter against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Kevin Garnett becomes just the 16th player in NBA history to score at least 25,000 points after hitting a jumper in the second quarter of Thursday night's game against the Los Angeles Lakers. Garnett came into the game six points shy of the all-time achievement.

Garnett has never been thought of as an elite scorer but has put up big numbers over a long 17-year career. His best scoring season came in the 2004 season when he averaged 24.2 points. His top output for the Celtics came in 2008 when he averaged 18.8. Garnett has been a double figure scorer for his entire career.

Next up on the career scoring list for Garnett is Lakers' legend Jerry West who is in 15th place with 25,192 points. John Havlicek is the only Celtics' legend that is ahead of Garnett on the all-time list. Havlicek is in 12th place and scored over 26,000 career points.
