Kevin Garnett: 'I'm going to retire a Celtic'

The Big Ticket had been mentioned in trade rumors with the Los Angeles Clippers and Denver Nuggets.

Thursday night was a big one for Kevin Garnett and the Boston Celtics. In his team's victory over the Los Angeles Lakers, Garnett scored his 25,000th career point. After the game, he made it quite clear that he wanted to finish his career in Boston, according to Boston.com.

At the end of his postgame interview with reporters on Thursday, Garnett had a message he wanted to deliver.

"I just want to say that I love my situation here," said Garnett. "I don't know what all your sources are, or whoever's making up this [expletive] articles about me getting traded to Denver and all these other places.

"But I bleed green, and I will continue to do that. And if it's up to me I'm going to retire a Celtic."

Since Rajon Rondo's season-ending injury, several Celtics, including Garnett, have had their name in included in trade discussions. Reports have indicated that Garnett vetoed a trade to the Denver Nuggets, and that Boston has discussed and turned down a Garnett trade with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Garnett, who turns 37 in May, has been with the Celtics since 2007. In his 18th NBA season, he is averaging 15.1 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.
