Rudy Gay hits game-winning shot to beat the Pacers

Rudy Gay gets it done in the final moments to get the Raptors to overtime and then wins the game in the extra period.

We are four games into the Rudy Gay era for Toronto and now we have his first game-winning shot. Coming into tonight, he averaged 24.7 points with an approximate 43 percent FG%. But tonight, the early returns weren't all rainbows and gumdrops for the wing as he matched up against All-Star Paul George.

Gay would finish with 9-for-25 shooting, but not before helping complete a late comeback when the Raptors seemed doomed. With time running down in regulation, Amir Johnson hit a shot and Gay stole a David West pass with only seconds remaining. Johnson would then hit the shot to tie things up and send Toronto and Indiana into overtime.

As overtime wound down, the two teams entangled, Rudy Gay received his chance to win it for Toronto. Isolated on George, Gay took him on the right wing and pulled up for the last-second jumper.

Hopefully, this now evens things out for that fan who once bemoaned Rudy Gay's late-game talents.
