Knicks vs. Timberwolves final score: Carmelo Anthony scores 36 in 100-94 win

Knicks use fourth quarter surge to beat Timberwolves.

The New York Knicks (32-16) out-scored the Minnesota Timberwolves (18-29) 30-18 in the fourth quarter to make up for a lackluster third quarter and win 100-94 Friday.

The Knicks led by seven at halftime, the the Timberwolves used a 31-18 advantage in the third quarter to enter the fourth with a lead. Carmelo Anthony and J.R. Smith helped get the Knicks offense back on track in the fourth. Anthony finished the game with 36 points and Smith scored 15 off the bench. Steve Novak and Amar'e Stoudemire scored 11 points off the bench.

The Timberwolves led by one with less than two minutes remaining before Tyson Chandler hit a layup to give the Knicks the lead. This was Minnesota's third straight loss.

Ricky Rubio had 18 points and 11 assists for the Timberwolves and Luke Ridnour scored 20 points. Derrick Williams scored 19 points.
