Celtics vs. Thunder final score: Oklahoma City emerges with 91-79 victory

Despite Kevin Durant shooting only 38 percent from the field, the Celtics were unable to keep pace with the Thunder through the fourth quarter and had their five-game winning streak snapped.

The Oklahoma City Thunder picked up a 91-79 over the Boston Celtics on ABC's Sunday matinee. Kevin Durant led the way for Oklahoma City, but went only 6-for-16 from the field. Durant was perfect from the free throw line, hitting all 11 of his attempts from the charity stripe as he tallied up 23 points, while also pulling down 11 rebounds for a double-double.

The Celtics made a final charge late in the fourth quarter after Jason Terry hit a three-point shot to cut the game down to single-digits, but failed to cut into the lead any further. Boston scored only 14 points in the fourth quarter.

Paul Pierce put up a fight for Boston, putting in 20 points, but his teammates struggled to score throughout the game. Kevin Garnett had a rough outing, going only 5-for-19 from the field, but still pulled down 11 rebounds. In Jeff Green's first game in Oklahoma City since being traded to Boston he went only 2-for-11 for 8 points. Brandon Bass led the game in rebounding with 13 rebounds.

Oklahoma City spent the fourth quarter pulling away from the Celtics, and eventually it was too much for Boston to overcome. Russell Westbrook had a quiet night, scoring only 15 points and dishing just 2 assists. With Westbrook not providing the secondary scoring punch, the Thunder's bench stepped up and scored 32 points.

Boston's five-game winning streak has been snapped while they pursue the Brooklyn Nets for homecourt advantage in the first round of the playoffs. The Thunder are now on a five-game winning streak of their own while they inch closer to the first seed in the Western Conference.
