Golden State would look a lot better if it never had to play the Rockets.
The Houston Rockets have owned the Golden State Warriors this season. They won the first three matchups, all of which have taken place since early February.
Houston goes for the season sweep at home tonight at 7 p.m. ET.
Golden State still has a better overall record than the Rockets; the Warriors are at 37-30 (sixth in the Western Conference), and Houston's at 36-30 (seventh). But the Warriors' record could be a lot better if it could figure out how to beat Houston. It's been a recurring problem, too—the Rockets have won 17 of their last 19 games in the series against Golden State.
The Rockets have dominated the Warriors this season in very different kinds of games. Their first matchup on Feb. 5 was a 140-109 win in which Jeremy Lin had 28 points — one of eight Rockets in double figures — and nine assists. On March 8, the Rockets shot a mere 36.5 percent but managed a 94-88 win.
Both teams have won two of their last three games.
