NBA playoff picture: Lakers now pressuring Rockets for No. 7

The Lakers are just a half game back of the Rockets for the seventh spot in the Western Conference. At the top, the Thunder moved back to within one game of the Spurs.

With the Los Angeles Lakers grabbing a win without Kobe Bryant and the Houston Rockets getting blown out by the Golden State Warriors, the Lakers are now just a half game behind the Rockets for the seventh seed in the Western Conference.

Los Angeles is one game ahead of the Utah Jazz for the final playoff spot, and both teams will be in action on a busy Monday in the NBA. The Lakers will be in Phoenix to take on the Suns, while the Jazz will host the depleted New York Knicks.

At the top of the West, the Oklahoma City Thunder moved to one game behind the San Antonio Spurs with their thrilling win over the Dallas Mavericks. The Los Angeles Clippers moved one full game ahead of the Memphis Grizzlies and Denver Nuggets for the third seed thanks to a win over the Knicks.
