Nuggets vs. Bulls: Nuggets look to continue NBA's other double digit win streak

The Nuggets take to the road as they look to push their win streak to 12 games and take over sole possession of fourth place in the West.

The NBA's second hottest team takes their win streak on the road as the Denver Nuggets visit the United Center to take on the Chicago Bulls. Winners of 11 straight, the Nuggets are looking to leap frog the Memphis Grizzlies and take sole possession of fourth place in the Western Conference.

The Nuggets are coming off a home victory over the Grizzlies that pulled them in to a tie for fourth. What was most interesting about that 87-80 win was that the Nuggets won the game playing at the Grizzlies pace instead of their normal up and down style of play.

One reason for the Nuggets' win streak has been the improved play of Ty Lawson, who is averaging close to 20 points a game during the streak, three points about his average on the season. While the Nuggets have struggled as a whole on the road, Lawson's numbers have seen little to no change. During his last game against the Bulls, Lawson scored 16 points and dished out 12 assists in the team's 128-96 win last month.

Bulls look to keep pace in East playoff race

The Chicago Bulls return home after a three game Western Conference road trip that saw them both win and lose big. The Bulls are coming off a 113-95 win over the Golden State Warriors. Two night before that, the Bulls suffered a 121-79 loss to the Sacramento Kings, who own the West's second worse record. Chicago is currently 36-29, good for a tie for sixth in Eastern Conference with the Celtics. However, they are only a half game behind the Atlanta Hawks for fifth place and 1 1/2 games behind the Brooklyn Nets for fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings.

Matchup of the game

With Derrick Rose and Kirk Hinrich still out, it'll be up to Nate Robinson to both help spark the Bulls offense and somehow try to stay in front of Lawson. Robinson has struggled over his last ten games, shooting just 36 percent from the field. Robinson did have 20 points on 6-13 shooting and seven assists in his last game against Golden State.
