Jeff Green was on his way to a legendary performance with a career-high. Then LeBron James happened.
LeBron James led the way for the Heat with 37 points on 16-of-29 shooting, including the game-winner over Green to lift Miami (52-14) and extend their league-best winning streak to 23 games. Mario Chalmers added 21 points on 6-of-10 shooting, and Miami shot 49.4 percent from the field as a team to help overcome the C's.
Jeff Green had a career-high 43 points on 14-of-21 shooting to lead the Celtics (36-30). Paul Pierce added 17 points, eight rebounds and eight assists to help make up for the absence of injured forward-center Kevin Garnett.
But the Heat were just too good down the stretch.
Boston allowed that to happen by turning the ball over 21 times, despite shooting a blazing 54.2 percent from the field as a team and 47.6 percent from the three-point line. The Heat exploited those giveaways and scored 50 points in the paint.
