NBA schedule 2013: LeBron returns to Cleveland as Heat shoot for 24 in a row

The Heat will go for their 24th win in a row when they take on the Cavaliers Wednesday night. LeBron James is 8-1 against Cleveland since signing with Miami.

LeBron James and the Miami Heat take their World Domination Tour to Cleveland on Wednesday, as the Heat will look to extend their winning streak to 24 games against the Cavaliers.

Miami has won two close games against Cleveland thus far this season, but one would think the red-hot Heat would have little trouble on Wednesday against an extremely short-handed Cavs team. Joining Kyrie Irving and Anderson Varejao on the shelf is No. 4 pick Dion Waiters, who has a knee injury and could undergo surgery.

The winning streak overshadows James' return to his old stomping grounds. The reigning MVP is 8-1 against the Cavs since taking his talents to South Beach, averaging 26.4 points, 6.9 assists and 6.2 rebounds in those games.

Over in the Western Conference, there's a huge matchup in Memphis between the Grizzlies and Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder will be on the second of a tough back-to-back after losing at home to the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday. Memphis is percentage points ahead of Denver and the Los Angeles Clippers for the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference, four games behind Oklahoma City for the No. 2 seed.

There are several other games with playoff implications on the docket, with the Houston Rockets hosting the Utah Jazz in the West and Atlanta Hawks taking on the Milwaukee Bucks in the East. The Golden State Warriors also have a big game in San Antonio against the Spurs.
