Raptors forward Rudy Gay will miss the team's game against the Knicks on Saturday night due to a bad back. Gay did not even make the trip to New York.

Toronto Raptors forward Rudy Gay did not travel with the team to New York for their game on Saturday night against the Knicks due to a sore back, according to the New York Post's Marc Berman.

Gay left Friday night's 99-94 loss to the Knicks in the second quarter when his back flared up. He scored just two points on 2-of-7 shooting in 14 minutes before heading to the locker room.

This could certainly be a good thing for New York, who may look to limit Carmelo Anthony's minutes after he played 43 on Friday. Anthony just recently returned from having his hamstring drained of fluid, although he showed no ill effects on Friday, scoring 37 points on 14-of-31 shooting. Still, being the second of a back-to-back, it would be nice for the Knicks to be able to rest their star if possible.

On the other hand, perhaps the Raptors will function better without Gay in the lineup. After struggling initially when he went out on Friday, Toronto did put up 57 points in the second half. Gay can really score when he has it going, but he has been woefully inefficient all year, and his poor shot selection can sometimes hinder the Raptors' offense.
