Stephen Curry injury: Warriors guard rolls ankle during win over Wizards

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Stephen Curry left Saturday night's game vs. the Washington Wizards after rolling his ankle on Cartier Martin's foot.

Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry left Saturday's win over the Washington Wizards after injuring his right ankle during the fourth quarter.

Curry was trying to catch an outlet pass when he tripped on Cartier Martin's foot and tumbled to the ground. He stayed in the game long enough to make two free throws and then went to the locker room to have the ankle examined. He left the game with 35 points and did not return for the final five minutes.

This is the same ankle Curry has had repeated problems with. He seemed to have turned a corner, though, playing in all but four of the team's games this year. His status for Monday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers wasn't immediately made available.

The Warriors are currently in a race for sixth place in the Western Conference, just one game ahead of the Houston Rockets and 3 1/2 games ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers, who are in eighth place.
