The trio of Monta Ellis, Brandon Jennings, and Larry Sanders did a number on the Lakers. Jennings had a solid night, scoring 20 points and dishing out seven assists. Sanders had a double-double with 13 rebounds and 21 points. Ellis nearly put together a triple-double, ending his night with 18 points, nine assists, and seven rebounds. The Lakers have struggled in back-to-backs, and have been unable to win both games in the set all season. After a tight win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night, they played as flat as they have throughout the season on no rest.
Steve Nash led the charge early for the Lakers, and ended the night with 16 points on 5-of-7 shooting and six assists. Nash, though, had to leave the game early, going to the locker room to be examined and leaving the already shorthanded Lakers missing his presence. Nash played 23 minutes.
Kobe Bryant scored 30 points on 6-of-17 shooting, but turned the ball over six times. He also took time away from the game to tend to an injury, with his recently sprained ankle flaring up in the fourth quarter. Bryant later returned to the game. Dwight Howard finished with 15 points and 15 rebounds.
