Heat president Pat Riley had his say, telling reporters in Miami that Ainge should, "Shut the f--k up and manage his own team." Riley added, "He was the biggest whiner going when he was playing and I know that because I coached against him."
Told of those comments before the Celtics played the Hawks on Friday, Ainge responded, "I would say we're both right. LeBron should quit complaining. I complained as a player and I should manage my own team. We're both right."
Asked if he did his share of complaining as a player, Ainge said, "Oh heavens yes. That's not a secret."
Just for posterity, here's one more from Ainge: "Pat Riley's right. I should manage my own team. I complained a lot to the officials. And I'm right. LeBron should be embarrassed about how he complains about the calls he gets."
