The Miami Heat overcame a 16-point first-half deficit to hand the New York Knicks a 99-93 defeat at Madison Square Garden. The win extends Miami's winning streak to 14 games and snaps New York's three-game streak.
The Knicks outscored the Heat, 37-22, in the second quarter on their way to a 59-45 advantage at the half. The Heat answered back in the third, outscoring the Knicks by 10 and cutting the lead to 77-73 heading to the fourth. New York's offense continued to sputter in the fourth and the Heat took the lead for good with 4:29 remaining on a Dwyane Wade jumper.
LeBron James scored 10 of his 29 points in the fourth quarter to go along with 11 rebounds and seven assists for the game. Dwyane Wade added 20 points, eight boards and eight assists while Chris Bosh finished with 16.
Carmelo Anthony led all scorers with 32 but 24 came in the first half. Jason Kidd snapped out of a recent slump with 14 points, eight rebounds and six assists. J.R. Smith gave the Knicks a double-double off the bench with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Amare Stoudemire finished with 12 points in 21 minutes off the New York bench.
