Corey Brewer led the way for the Nuggets (39-22) with 22 points, four assists, three rebounds and two steals off the bench. Kenneth Faried put together a solid effort with a double-double that included 10 points and 13 rebounds. Five Nuggets scored in double figures.
Denver stuck to its strengths in the victory and used the transition game to get easy, high-percentage points inside. The Nuggets scored 62 points in the paint and 29 fast-break points to dispose of the tired Hawks, who had just come off a grueling test against the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday.
Al Horford continued his All-Star caliber play and notched a double-double of his own with 18 points and 13 rebounds to lead Atlanta (33-26). Jeff Teague turned in a solid performance with 15 points, eight assists and four rebounds.
