Jeff Green went into hero mode and lifted the Celtics to a dramatic victory in Indianapolis.
Jeff Green made a layup off a Kevin Garnett assist with less than a second remaining to lead the Boston Celtics past the Indiana Pacers, 83-81, at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Wednesday night.
Indiana (38-23) dominated inside and won the points in the paint margin, 44-32; took the offensive rebounding battle, 16-9; and scored 20 fast-break points compared to just 11 from the Celtics.
Paul George continued to showcase his All-Star form and had 16 points and seven rebounds to lead the way for Indiana. Roy Hibbert and David West each had a double-double, with West pouring in 11 points and 16 rebounds, and Hibbert adding 12 and 12.
Neither team shot well from the field in the defensively-dominated battle. Boston managed just 41 percent from the field in the win, while a dismal 36.4 percent mark sealed the Pacers' fate.
