Manu Ginobili injury: Spurs guard out for 3-4 weeks with strained hamstring

Soobum Im-USA TODAY Sports

The San Antonio Spurs will be without guard Manu Ginobili for three to four weeks as he recovers from a hamstring injury.

Manu Ginobili will miss three-to-four weeks of play while he recovers from a right hamstring strain, the San Antonio Spurs announced on Monday, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.

The veteran guard was first believed to be day-to-day after injuring himself on Friday against the Los Angeles Clippers, but now it appears the hamstring issue is more significant. The San Antonio Express-News first reported that Ginobili's right hamstring would cost him weeks, not days, but it was unclear how long he would be out.

With the regular season coming to an end on April 17, there is a chance the Argentinian could miss the beginning of the Spurs' first playoff series.

Ginobili played in three minutes during the first quarter of the 104-102 victory against the Clippers before leaving the game after hurting himself on a drive to the hoop. He also sat out the Spurs' 88-86 loss to the Miami Heat on Sunday.

The Spurs play at Memphis Monday evening, and they'll also be without Tim Duncan and Kawhi Leonard, according to Stein.
