The Indiana Pacers and Boston Celtics each have two games left in the regular season, but with both having playoff positions locked up, the NBA announced the game would not be rescheduled, saying on their PR Twitter account, "The April 16 game between the Pacers and Celtics at TD Garden has been canceled. The game will not be rescheduled."
Sports across the city of Boston on Monday were cancelled as the city reeled from two separate explosions near the finish line of the Boston Marathon. The NHL cancelled a game between the Boston Bruins and Ottawa Senators, but will have to be made up because of the playoff implications for both teams.
The Boston Red Sox played a day game on Monday, defeating the Tampa Bay Rays 3-2 about a hour before the explosions occurred. They head on the road to Cleveland for a three game series with the Indians on Tuesday.
