Dennis Schrӧder of Germany to enter 2013 NBA Draft, according to report

The speedy point guard has been turning heads with his play during Hoop Summit workouts in Portland.

German guard Dennis Schrӧder plans to enter the 2013 NBA draft after a strong showing in practices for the Hoop Summit event in Portland, OR, according to reports.

The 6'2 guard will turn 21 just prior to the start of NBA training camps and will begin the NBA draft process as a projected late first-round pick. The league values point guard play, though, so Schrӧder has a chance to lift his stock throughout the draft process.

Here is what DraftExpress had to say about Schrӧder's play in Portland leading up to the game on Saturday.

Playing pesky, full-court defense, knocking down a number of jump shots, and looking great in the open floor as well, Schroeder is leaving a lasting impression with his play here in Portland. With Marcus Smart returning to school and a notable void after the top tier of point guard prospects in the 2013 draft at the moment, Schroeder could look to fill that gap with a strong performance in the actual game on Saturday.

Schrӧder played last season for the New Yorker Phantoms Braunschweig in the German BBL where he averaged 12 points, 3.2 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game.

DraftExpress currently has four point guards projected in the first round, led by Michigan's Trey Burke (No. 6). Michael Carter-Williams (No. 11) of Syracuse, C.J. McCollum (No. 15) of Lehigh and Shane Larkin (No. 27) of Miami (Fla.) are the other projected first-round point guards.
