Kenneth Faried likely in, Kosta Koufos likely out of Nuggets' starting lineup

The Denver Nuggets will likely have a new-look starting lineup for Game 3 against the Golden State Warriors.

Nuggets coach George Karl said that he'll evaluate a lineup change over the next few days, and according to the Denver Post's Chris Dempsey, Kosta Koufos could be out of the Denver Nuggets' starting lineup come Friday's game against the Golden State Warriors.

Koufos has struggled, especially in Game 2 where 14 minutes of action resulted in just two rebounds and one shot attempt, which he missed.

Related to any move of Koufos or not, the Nuggets will also likely insert forward Kenneth Faried back into the starting lineup,'s Scott Howard-Cooper reports. After missing Game 1 with an ankle injury, Faried came off the bench behind Wilson Chandler, but will reclaim the starting spot he held for much of the season.

So who's to start at center should Faried take over for Chandler?

One candidate would be backup center JaVale McGee, who has been active in both games of the first round series. He played 26 minutes in a Game 1 victory and scored nine points to go with six rebounds. During Game 2's 131-117 loss, McGee scored seven points and grabbed three rebounds in just 14 minutes. McGee is a perfect 7-for-7 from the floor in the two outings.

Timofey Mozgov could also be a darkhorse candidate to start at center and could match up with Warriors center Andrew Bogut well enough, but he hasn't appeared in the series thus far.
