Kings relocation: Reactions online reflect joy, frustration of franchise staying in Sacramento

It appears the Kings will be staying in Sacramento. With one city keeping its team and another resigned to waiting for the next opportunity, fans turned online to react.

A committee of NBA owners voted unanimously to recommend the impending move of the Sacramento Kings franchise to Seattle be voted down on Monday, the league announced. The news comes after months of efforts in both cities to be awarded the franchise, which the Maloof family agreed to sell earlier this year.

For Kings fans, many of whom fought valiantly through recent months with efforts such as "Here We Buy" night, this is truly a special moment. And for the passionate fans in Seattle who believed the league was finally returning NBA basketball to a city that never deserved to lose it, it's an equally sad day.
