Heat vs. Pacers schedule: Eastern Conference Finals begin on Wednesday

USA TODAY Sports

The Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers square off in a rematch of the six game semifinal match up from last year. Here's a look at the full schedule for the series.

The Indiana Pacers defeated the New York Knicks Saturday night, 106-99, to punch their ticket to the Eastern Conference Finals. Awaiting them is the defending champion Miami Heat, who sent home the shorthanded Chicago Bulls last Wednesday.

Game 1 is scheduled for Wednesday night in Miami, which means the Heat will have a full week of rest between games. Play remains in Miami for Game 2 before the series shifts to Indianapolis Sunday and Tuesday for Games 3 and 4. If necessary, the series will swing back to Miami for Game 5.

This is the second year in a row the Heat and Pacers have squared off in the playoffs. Last season, the two met in the Eastern Conference semifinals, where Miami beat Indiana in six games. This series will probably be remembered best as the series that forced Erik Spoelstra to commit to small ball due to Chris Bosh's abdominal injury. After starting Udonis Haslem in Bosh's place for Game 2, Spoelstra then moved Shane Battier in to the starting line up for the remainder of the playoffs.

Indiana won the season series with the Heat, 2-1. It will be interesting to see how much a week layoff has helped Dwyane Wade's bruised right knee, which caused him to already miss one game during this playoff run. Below is complete schedule for the series.
