Blake Griffin injury: Clippers star a game-time decision Friday

The Los Angeles Clippers are on the brink of elimination, and they aren't even sure if star forward Blake Griffin will be able to play on Friday night against the Grizzlies.

Los Angeles Clippers star forward Blake Griffin injured his ankle during practice on Monday, and he will be a game-time decision for Game 6 on Friday night in Memphis, according to an Associated Press report. Griffin appeared at the team shootaround, walked with a bit of a limp and left the court without talking to reporters, but Clippers head coach Vinny Del Negro said Griffin will test his ankle in warm-ups and the team will go from there.

L.A. is on the brink of elimination from the 2013 NBA Playoffs, as the Grizzlies have won three straight games and now hold a 3-2 series lead. Game 6 is set for 9:30 p.m. ET and will be televised nationally on ESPN2.

Griffin tried to play through his high ankle sprain in Game 5 and wasn't very effective. He scored four points on 2-of-7 shooting in 20 minutes on Tuesday before he left the game in the third quarter. Zach Randolph was asked about Griffin's ailment earlier in the week, and he had some choice words to offer (via ESPN):

"Banged up?" Randolph said of Griffin. "I'm banged up. You forgot about my ankle? Banged up. My ankle is as big as a balloon. Talk to the trainers. I'm getting treatment every day. It's the playoffs."
