It was only a couple minutes into the second quarter of Game 5 in Miami before Birdman lost his cool. After Tyler Hansbrough had the gall to walk up the court in Chris Andersen's vicinity, Birdman shoved Hansbrough to the ground.
Andersen seemed to be so offended that he wanted to continue on.
As the tiny referee desperately tried to hold him back, the officials awarded Andersen and Hansbrough a technical foul each, to many viewers' confusion. The referees went to the tape to decide further, and then gave Andersen an additional flagrant 1 foul. It will be interesting to see if the league reviews this in the post-mortem and decides to give any further penalties.
On the following Pacers possession, Indiana gave the ball to Hansbrough. Matched up on LeBron, he hesitated and then jumped for the shot. A recovering Andersen came with the help defense and blocked his shot out of bounds. Adding insult to injury, indeed.
Poor Hansbrough.
