Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose discussed his status with the media prior to Chicago's Game 7 victory over the Brooklyn Nets Saturday. Rose wouldn't say whether or not he'll return to the team in the playoffs.
In comments transcribed by Comcast Sports Chicago, Rose said he's unaware of criticism he has received from some fans and media for not playing and that he appreciates recent public support from some of his teammates. Rose also noted that he hasn't decided to sit out.
"No," Rose said, after being asked if there's a benefit to making a definitive announcement that he won't return this season. "Who knows? It's still in the air where I'm still trying to be positive and still trying to take care of my body."
Those comments from Rose are contrary to a report from Yahoo!'s Adrian Wojnarowski, who quotes an anonymous source saying that Rose has, in fact, already decided not to return this season.
"His choice has been made to sit out the season and it includes no provisions for turning back, sources with direct knowledge told Yahoo! Sports," Wojnarowski wrote.
