Grizzlies vs. Thunder, NBA Playoff odds 2013: Memphis viewed as surprising favorites

USA TODAY Sports

Russell Westbrook's absence has many thinking the Grizzlies could knock off the Thunder in the conference semifinals.

When the Oklahoma City Thunder and Memphis Grizzlies square off in the Western Conference Semifinals, the oddsmakers in Las Vegas will view the matchup as pretty close to even as far as betting lines go.

Despite being the top seed in the west, the loss of Russell Westbrook to injury really dampened any chance the Thunder had at winning the title this season. According to Bovada, the No. 5 seeded Grizzlies will actually be considered favorites in the series with -120 odds of winning. The Thunder are slight underdogs at +100.

For those unfamiliar with betting lines, that means you would have to place $120 on Memphis to win $100, while a bet of $100 on Kevin Durant and OKC will bring in $100 should they take the series.

As for Game 1 in the series, which will be played in Oklahoma City on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. ET, Odds Shark likes the Thunder to win. They opened as four-point favorites, although the line has dropped to three in recent days. The over/under for total points scored is 186½, which seems a little low given the offensive firepower both teams possess on their rosters.
