Spurs vs. Warriors: Tim Duncan misses practice due to illness, expected to play Monday

Robert Hanashiro-USA TODAY

Tim Duncan missed practice, but should be ready for Game 1 against the Warriors Monday.

Tim Duncan of the San Antonio Spurs missed practice Friday with a stomach ailment, but he's not expected to miss the team's opening game of the second round of the NBA Playoffs Monday against the Golden State Warriors.

Duncan was sent home from Saturday's practice more to prevent others on the team from getting sick than because they were concerned about his health. Coach Gregg Popovich told Jeff MacDonald of Spurs Nation that Duncan is 'fine.'

"You have to be careful, of course," Manu Ginobili told McDonald. "But sometimes the thing is contagious before you realize. So there's not much you can do."
