The NBA has fined Roy Hibbert $75,000 for his post-game remarks following Game 6 of the Eastern Conference finals.

The NBA has officially announced that Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert has been fined $75,000 for using "inappropriate and vulgar language" after Game 6 of the Eastern Conference finals.

In the official release from the NBA, David Stern personally responds to the issue and calls the fine "necessary to reinforce that such offensive comments will not be tolerated by the NBA."

"While Roy has issued an apology, which is no doubt sincere, a fine is necessary to reinforce that such offensive comments will not be tolerated by the NBA," said NBA Commissioner David Stern.

Things went downhill for Hibbert when he responded to a question regarding how he finished 10th in Defensive Player of the Year voting. Hibbert responded by saying, "Y'all motherf--ers don't watch us play throughout the year to tell you the truth. So that's fine. I'm going to be real with you, and I don't care if I get fined." That was only the start of his verbal fumbling, however.

When discussing the difficulty of defending LeBron James, Hibbert stumbled into his second misstep of the night. "Lebron was scoring in the post or getting to the paint cause he was stretching me out so much -- no homo."

Hibbert has since apologized, calling his remarks "insensitive" and "disrespectful."

While the Pacers' big man took a hit to his bank account, he will not be suspended for his remarks and will be available for the decisive Game 7 in Miami.
