Mario Chalmers nailed a 39-foot buzzer-beating three-pointer to give the Miami Heat a 72-71 lead over the San Antonio Spurs going into the fourth quarter of Game 7. The Heat are now just one quarter away from becoming back-to-back champions.
A beautiful pass from Boris Diaw to Tim Duncan gave the Spurs the lead at the 2:40 mark. Back-to-back threes from Shane Battier and Chalmers gave the Heat the advantage back. The Heat have led by as many as six points.
LeBron James has a game-high 28 points and has made five shots from beyond the arc, making the Spurs pay as they challenge him to shoot. Dwyane Wade has 18 points going into the final quarter. Chris Bosh has not scored, but has played solid defense on Tim Duncan and grabbed five rebounds.
Kawhi Leonard has stepped up for the Spurs. He has 14 points and 11 rebounds. Tim Duncan has a team-high 17 points for the Spurs, but Danny Green has had a terrible Game 7, making only one of his nine field goals while the Heat chase him away from the three-point line.
