The Miami Heat championship parade, originally set to 11 a.m. ET, has been delayed 30 minutes due to rain, according to the local CBS affiliate. CBS 4 Miami referred to the rain as "passing showers," so fans shouldn't have to wait too long to celebrate. Unfortunately, once the rain stops, they will have to brace for temperatures topping out at 89 degrees and a heat index above 95. Rain should only worsen the humidity.
The Heat had similar problems last season, with several fans passing out due to dehydration. The best advice for those braving the heat is to make sure to drink plenty of fluids of the non-alcoholic variety, though the desire to cut loose is understandable.
Check out SB Nation's parade StoryStream for more on how to follow the festivities. The parade will begin on the corner of Southwest Eighth Street and Second Avenue in Miami and finish up at AmericanAirlines Arena where an invitation-only rally will be held.
