NBA Draft 2013: Golden State Warriors select Nemanja Nedovic with No. 30 pick

USA TODAY Sports

The final draft pick announcement of David Stern's tenure as NBA commissioner is a 22-year-old point guard out of Serbia.

The Golden State Warriors selected Serbian 22-year-old point guard Nemanja Nedovic with the No. 30 pick in Thursday's NBA Draft.

The Warriors began the night with no picks; they traded for the 26th pick, then traded back for the 29th selection. They then dropped one more spot to No. 30 for cash consideration, likely to help pay for the money they dealt Oklahoma City for their first rounder.

Nedovic, one of the top international prospects at his age, had never visited the United States until his first workouts for NBA teams less than a week before the draft-his first workout was Friday with the Milwaukee Bucks-but the impressions he made professionally in Lithuania and for the Serbian national team were confirmed when he worked out stateside over the last week. He's 6'4 and very athletic; Draft Express has his maximum vertical leap at 35 inches, but it also said he measured a 41-inch vertical during the adidas EuroCamp event in 2011.

He uses his athleticism to exploit defenders with an explosive first step, and he can get to the basket quickly. His perimeter shooting has improved over the past few years, but his game inside the arc is still plagued with poor shot selection, settling for runners and mid-range jumpers instead of committing to get to the basket.

Nedovic still has two years left on his contract with Lietuvos Rytas in Lithuania, but his contract has an option in which he can opt out upon being selected in the NBA draft.

Nedovic will go down in basketball history as the last draft pick announced by NBA commissioner David Stern.
