The Nets had a chance on Tuesday to clinch the No. 5 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs, but instead were drilled by the Knicks in Brooklyn. In the nightcap, the Clippers kept their hopes for the Western Conference No. 2 seed alive with a home win over the Nuggets.

Chris Paul goes Tasmanian devil on Evan Fournier

Paul went baseline on the Nuggets guard, then went behind the back and flipped 180 with his left hand to finish with a scooping layup on the far side of the basket. That's the way Tex Winter used to teach it, I think.

Here's how I imagine the Brooklyn Nets' thought process went on this play:

"Oh hey, we're the Nets and we're in desperate need of a win so we can stave off the Wizards for the No. 5 spot in the Eastern Confer -- OH NO WHAT HAVE WE DONE WHY IS IMAN SHUMPERT DOING THIS TO US WE'RE LOSING BY 20."

I feel like this shouldn't be allowed unless The Professor is there to throw the pass wearing a sateen basketball jersey that's eight sizes too big for him.

Iman Shumpert turns Paul Pierce's ankles to dust

Iman Shumpert has no respect for his elders. In the Knicks' game against the Nets on Wednesday night, not only were the Knicks handily beating Brooklyn on their home floor but in the third quarter, Shumpert laid down this nasty crossover on poor old Paul Pierce.

No word yet on if Pierce will be needing to be rolled back out onto the court.
