NBA playoffs 2014, Bulls vs. Wizards final score: Chicago hangs on in 100-97 Game 3 victory

Geoff Burke, USA TODAY Sports

The Wizards had their playoff homecoming crashed by the Bulls.

The Chicago Bulls survived a sloppy fourth quarter in a 100-97 victory over the Washington Wizards in Game 3. Chicago avoids the sweep and notched a huge road victory against a team playing its first home playoff game since 2008. Jimmy Butler scored 11 points in the fourth quarter, including a huge three-point shot with the game tied at 91.

The Wizards lost an opportunity to take a commanding 3-0 lead over the Bulls. Washington had a three-point lead into halftime but were outscored 24-18 in the third quarter, swinging the momentum to Chicago. Nene was also ejected after grappling with Jimmy Butler. He finished the night with 10 points and four rebounds.

Mike Dunleavy was locked in, scoring a game-high 35 points. He was scorching from beyond the arc, draining eight of 10 three-point attempts while spacing the floor for Chicago. Bradley Beal scored a team-high 25 points, putting in 13 points in the fourth quarter.

The final 12 minutes were filled with foul calls and free-throws. Both teams combined for 33 free-throw attempts in the final period of the game. The Wizards host Game 4 on Sunday.
