NBA commissioner Adam Silver held a press conference Saturday night to address an audio recording obtained by TMZ of a man alleged to be Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling making racist statements to his girlfriend. The nine-minute tape has captured national attention after TMZ obtained the recording. The full press conference can be watched below:

Silver called the recording "truly offensive and disturbing" and was adamant the league would investigate the controversy. The commissioner was also clear that all members of the NBA -- from players, to executives, to owners -- should be afforded due process. Silver said the league will be moving swiftly to investigate the situation, but Sterling's previous alleged racial conflicts were not currently a key point.

Response to Recording

The core of the investigation is to to verify the tape is authentic, interview both Sterling and the woman in question and understand the context of the conversation in the recording. No potential sanctions against Sterling were discussed as the investigation is still ongoing.

Silver also announced that Sterling will not attend Game 4 of the Clippers-Warriors series.
