The Oklahoma City Thunder have eliminated the Memphis Grizzlies, rolling in a 120-109 victory. The series came down to a Game 7, and the soon-to-be named Most Valuable Player of the NBA came through huge for his team. Kevin Durant finished the night with a game-high 33 points, showing off his silky smooth shooting stroke to send the Thunder to the Western Conference semifinals.
Durant didn't do it alone, though, as Russell Westbrook also had a monster game. He earned himself a Game 7 triple-double, finishing the night with 27 points, 16 assists and 10 rebounds. He drained a three-point shot with 5:48 left in the fourth quarter, pushed the lead to 20 points, and capped off a huge second half from the Thunder's dominant duo.
The Grizzlies held on through a tough series and got off to a hot start, but couldn't close out the series on the road. They sorely missed Zach Randolph once the torrid pace they played at during the first quarter came back down.
Marc Gasol showed off his wide-array of talents, sinking jumpers from 15 feet out and working his post moves. He finished the night with a team-high 24 points along with six assists. Mike Conley had a solid game despite playing through an injury, ending his postseason with 20 points and nine assists.
The Thunder's leading duo were dominant and their support came through when it mattered the most, pushing the lead to 22 points at its peak. Oklahoma City will face either the Los Angeles Clippers or Golden State Warriors in the conference semifinals.
